Arabic calligraphy is not a way of writing as we like or copying someone else’s work. This is a common misconception across Kerala. It is important for everyone to understand that just like learning in a madrasa, school or through formal lessons, one should first learn from a qualified teacher who has received the proper certification (ijazah) for teaching. Recognizing this need, Ma’din Academy of Kerala established Ma’din Calligraphy & Art Centre, Kerala (MCACK) in January 2024 to teach traditional calligraphy.
